MEDICAL HEALTH INC. OFFERING NEW SCHOLARSHIPS TO STUDENTS AT THE LOCAL COLLEGE’S SCHOOL OF NURSING
ANYTOWN, PA – Stemming from a demand for more nurses to work in area hospitals, Medical Health Inc. is offering new scholarships to students at the Local College’s School of Nursing this spring.
The health care system is providing scholarships between $5,000 and $6,000 to students, who in exchange, agree to work for Medical Health Inc. upon graduation for 18-24 months.
"Medical Health Inc. is enthusiastic about the opportunity to create incentives for Local College students to join our health care team," says John Smith, director of human resources and central employment at Medical Health Inc. "This program compliments our commitment to education and our commitment to employ quality patient care providers."
Medical Health Inc. is offering two types of scholarships: one for seniors earning a Bachelor of Science in nursing (BSN) degree in May 2001, and another for sophomores who plan to work full-time with their Associate in Nursing (ASN) degree and RN license, also in May 2001.
"Our current nursing staff consists of many Local College alumni," adds Smith.
For the selected Local College sophomore students, Medical Health Inc. is also offering tuition benefits so the students can continue their BSN study part-time at the school.
Awards will be granted based on financial need and academic achievement, and will be paid directly to the student to go toward loans or tuition payments.
